Samples of award-winning work in the Marian art and writing contest

October 19, 2017

Students submitted more than 500 entries to the archdiocesan art and writing contest in connection with the consecration of the archdiocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the centenary of the apparitions at Fatima, Portugal. Archbishop Cordileone honored the first-place winners with plaques after the Mass of consecration on Oct. 7 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The number and quality of the entries was impressive, and Catholic San Francisco selected three among many worthy examples to present here. Thank you to the 21 Catholic schools and six parish religious education programs, as well as individual parishes, that participated. The Oct. 12 issue of Catholic San Francisco also featured winning entries.
