Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone was principal celebrant of the St. Thomas More Society’s annual Red Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, San Francisco, Oct. 12. The liturgy “seeks blessing and guidance for judges, attorneys, law school professors, law students, government officials and others involved in the legal and justice systems, and indeed for all who seek justice,” the Thomas More society said on its website.

San Francisco Superior Court Judge Suzanne R. Bolanos was honored with the St. Thomas More Award. “Judge Bolanos has been a model of judicial excellence, as well as community service,” the society said in earlier announcements of the Mass. Homilist was Dominican Father Pius Pietrzck, an attorney and current chair of the Pastoral Studies Department at St. Patrick’s Seminary & University in Menlo Park.
