A-bomb lesson

September 24, 2015
James O. Clifford Sr.
Redwood City

In condemning the atomic bombing of Japan, letter writer Richard Morasci (Sept. 11) says Japanese diplomats were trying to end the war and “did not want to fight to the last man standing.” Unfortunately, the Japanese military was willing to do just that. How appropriate his letter appeared in CSF on 9/11. The lesson from this is that the best way to end a war is not to start one.
